I think Obama will go with safe/non-controversial picks early. Even if he wanted to offer Bill an SC spot it would only be much later in his tenure---after he has accomplished some of his early goals and established a certain amount of bankable trust with the public. MAke no mistake, if Bill is ever nominated all freaking hell will break lose. He did look straight into the camera a lie after all, the stupid fucker.Anonymoustachehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07087423180514517335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4127790092879080620.post-89819581895381295202008-12-03T07:52:00.000-05:002008-12-03T07:52:00.000-05:00Dr.J,Bill is all about power. I'm not saying that ...Dr.J,
Bill is all about power. I'm not saying that he doesn't work some good causes, but basically people of that stature and ego get their kicks from power and influence. I don't know whether all the international mini-diplomacies in the world could equal the mojo of a SC seat. Now, if Bill is angling for a Nobel a la Gore then maybe....but I still don't see him preferring that to being an SC justice.
All this having been said, I don't think Obama will offer the SC post to him. With all his current troubles and pressures, he doesn't need the fucking circus of hearings that would ensue.
DM,
I think both suggestions are excellent; though in my opinion CPP would be much better equipped to hand out righteous beat-downs to the Scalias and Thomases.Anonymoustachehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07087423180514517335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4127790092879080620.post-65509066017695302652008-12-02T21:02:00.000-05:002008-12-02T21:02:00.000-05:00Love the idea of Bill at SCOTUS but c'mon, running...Love the idea of Bill at SCOTUS but c'mon, running his own mini-empire of international diplomacy vs one equal vote of 9? Don't see that happening. He'd be too pissed off when he couldn't persuade everyone else to vote as he did.Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hydehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07005652406299754952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4127790092879080620.post-23791590180775527752008-12-02T07:54:00.000-05:002008-12-02T07:54:00.000-05:00should read /declined/in previous commentshould read /declined/
in previous commentAnonymoustachehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07087423180514517335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4127790092879080620.post-28577412481118887872008-12-02T07:53:00.000-05:002008-12-02T07:53:00.000-05:00DM,Bill for SCOTUS would be awesome and would assu...DM,
Bill for SCOTUS would be awesome and would assure the aforementioned seizures/strokes.
I was bitterly disappointed when Bill made SCOTUS overtures to Cuomo and he declines. The Cuomo/Scalia throwdowns would have been epic. The opinions would have been entertaining reads regardless of the case.Anonymoustachehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07087423180514517335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4127790092879080620.post-87547015612910991302008-12-02T00:14:00.000-05:002008-12-02T00:14:00.000-05:00I'm still backing Bill for SCOTUS my self. They say that hope springs eternal...

Did you hear CNN talking about how the next junior Senator from NY could be Bill Clinton? They are trying to figure out if there is a Constitutional bar on it... but also mentioned that John Quincy Adams was a Congressman for some 18 years after he lost reelection to the Presidency.Ospinionatedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05662642753593879699noreply@blogger.com
