Dubya's legacy

/

A description of the scene as the Bushes left Washington after President Obama's inauguration (from the NYTimes liveblog of the event):
-----------

The Bushes Depart | 12:56 p.m. The helicopter steps are folded up. The blade begins to rotate. The Obamas and Bidens are standing still, holding each other’s hands, as they watch the helicopter rev up. We now have lift-off; the Bushes have left the Capitol at 12:55 — almost half an hour ahead of time. The Obamas wave.

The helicopter is swinging out over the Mall first instead of heading directly to Andrews. Surely the Bushes can’t hear the crowd below, but the chant is one that sports fans jeer to the opposing team: “Na Na Na Na/Na Na Na Na/Hey Hey Hey/Good-bye.”

-----------

Yeah, that about sums it up.

Abso-freaking-lutely.
Well, hopefully, they're off to jail first and then to the septic pit of history---I know the former's unlikely, but we can hope now can't we?

Loved the part of his speech in Midland, Texas when he said he liked to tackle the tough issues and not leave them behind to future presidents and future generations. This fuckhead CREATED the tough issues, Iraq chief among them, and was completely incapable of fucking tackling them. Like a waterboy trying to bring down a fullback. This asshole left more behind and more untackled having tentacles that reach far into the future than any president in the history of this country. Yeah, Stache, jail first THEN the septic pit.

Man, you gotta love the stones on these guys, huh? How can they calmly deliver these exalted claims after having such a demonstrably horrible record? Like you said, the guy created much of this mess. And he didn't tackle shit other than enriching "the haves and the have mores, i.e. the people he likes to call his base". Why do you think he was so fucking good at ducking the damn shoes thrown at him? A lifetime of practice ducking things.

Hey, Stache, on a completely unrelated topic and for your personal enjoyment before I post it, Tony, the Yogi Berra character I work with and wrote about in "Say What?" dropped this little pearl last night.

"How about this Obana... first day in office he says he'll shut down Guatemala!"

And I didn't misspell "Obama" because that's how Tony says it... Obana! And he always will.

Oh Belize!
That's hilarious!
Dude, you should have a running update on the Tony column, maybe a monthly Tony sidebar or something so that you can document all of his gems.
Now anytime I read something about Gitmo I'll think of this and will end up chuckling.
