Don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever.

I think that is what Joe Lieberman hopes is the translation of this:

"President-Elect Barack Obama doesn't "hold any grudges" against Senator Joe Lieberman for opposing his presidential candidacy...."

But who are we kidding? Fredo Lieberman knows he's finished.

For now, Obama's magnanimity is merely something on the lines of: "Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me. But, until that day, accept this justice as a gift..."

Fredo you shameless fucking rat, make yourself useful to the new Don real quick and maybe you won't get whacked right away.

I know, wasn't that awesome? It was so smiting him with kindness. Of course, a good religious man like Joe would know all about that.

It also puts Obama so above the fray. "Oh you and your silly little tiffs, Joe, you just carry on. Then in 2010 we whack you with Ned Lamont."

Dr.J,
Precisely.
Also, it is the politically smart move. Fredo could still have some usefulness in crucial votes/politicking. Apparently the entire dem caucus is gonna vote on his chairmanship. That would be the thing to do---Make the weasel squirm and get really uncomfortable, then Barack steps in behind the scenes to bail him out, reminding him that he is now in debt. There is so much to do just to stay afloat in the first year that Obama would be smart to use all alliances and leverages. So I'd be surprised if Fredo ends up losing his chairmanship.

Joe Lieberman is more of a bandwagonner (sic) than the Cowboys fans of the 90's who are all now Patriots fans.

Great blog... adding to the blogroll on my new one.
